Indian police arrest dozens of youth in Handwara

Srinagar, August 16 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian police have arrested dozens of youth in Handwara area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Indian police arrested the youth including Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League member Irshad Ahmad during house raids in Kralgund area of Handwara.

Meanwhile, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter General Secretary and JKML leader, Sheikh Abdul Mateen, in a statement issued in Islamabad strongly condemned the arrest of party member Irshad Ahmad and other youth in Handwara. He appealed to the international community particularly to UN to take cognizance of the worst human rights situation in IIOJK.

He also expressed concern over the continued illegal detention and deteriorating health of APHC Chairman, Masarrat Aalam Butt, in New Delhi’s Tihar jail and demanded immediate release of all Hurriyat leaders, activists and youth, languishing in different jails of IIOJK and India.
