APHC-AJK remembers martyred leader Sheikh Aziz on his anniversary

Islamabad, August 11 (KMS): The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter has said that martyred leader, Sheikh Abdul Aziz was a true soldier of Kashmiris’ freedom struggle who preferred martyrdom but never bowed before Indian military might.

The APHC-AJK chapter Convener, Mehmood Ahmad Saghar, in a statement, on the 14th martyrdom anniversary of Sheikh Abdul Aziz, while recalling his contributions towards the Kashmir freedom struggle, said that he always strived for the freedom of Jammu and Kashmir from Indian illegal occupation and lived and died for the sacred cause of freedom.

He said the martyred leader dedicated his whole life for the cause and worked tirelessly for making the resistance movement a success at gross root level on multiple dimensions. It was his sincerity, honesty, dedication, fearlessness and courage for the cause which made him a specific target of Indian forces and agencies and under a well-hatched criminal conspiracy he was assassinated on this day in 2008 in Uri Baramulla, he added.

The APHC-AJK Convener said, “Sheikh Abdul Aziz will always be remembered as a leader who always believed to lead from the front and his immense contributions would form a golden chapter of our resistance history.”

Meanwhile, the leaders and members of APHC-AJK chapter in their statements said the martyred leader fought selflessly for freedom of Kashmir till his last breath and he continues to inspire the Kashmiri people. They said that Sheikh Aziz was a passionate advocate of Kashmir’s accession to Pakistan.
