Washington, August 09 (KMS): Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), a US-based group that supports freedom of Punjab from India as Khalistan, has appealed to the youth of Punjab to raise ‘Har Ghar Khalistan slogan’ and also display Khalistan flags in their homes on August 15, which India celebrates as its Independence Day.
The SFJ leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannu in a statement urged the residents of [Indian] Punjab to take a pledge this year for realizing the dream of Khalistan. As India celebrates 75 years of its Independence, “it will be a decisive year for Punjab, all will have to take part as this is going to final was for independence or with Khalistan”.
Pannu also called for a referendum on Khalistan, separation from India, by 26 January 2023. Pannu has urged the Sikh community to support the Khalistan referendum to create a Sikh homeland in “Indian occupied Punjab”. He maintained, “Once Sikhs have Khalistan, all those involved in non-state and state terrorism against Sikhs will be held accountable under the international laws”.
The Sikh leader called upon Sikh bodies such as Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) and Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) to openly support 26 January 2023 voting for the referendum in India instead of pleading the Modi regime for help.
India has tried to portray Sikhs as terrorists but the whole world witnessed that they are peaceful and democratic people who believe in ballots, not bullets and that’s what frightens India.
Sikhs for Justice UK’s Coordinator, Dupinderjit Singh said, “Under UN Charter and Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Sikhs have a right to express their will through referendum on the question of continued and future association of Punjab with India but Indian regime has attempted to criminalize those Sikhs who have spoken out against Indian occupation of Punjab.
Sikhs have sent out a message that they reject Hindutva rule over them and will not rest till they are free.
