Islamabad, August 05 (KMS): The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter, today, held anti-India protest demonstrations and rallies in different cities of Pakistan including federal capital Islamabad.
The purpose of the demonstrations was to register protest against the illegal and unilateral steps taken by the Modi-led fascist Indian government in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir on August 5, 2019.
APHC leaders including its Convener Mehmood Ahmad Saghar, Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Syed Yousuf Naseem, Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, Altaf Hussain Wani, Muhammad Hussain Khateeb, Raja Shaheen, Shaikh Abdul Mateen, Imtiyaz Wani, Engineer Mushtaq Mehmood, Zahid Ashraf, Syed Aijaz Rehmani, Syed Mushtaq Gilani, Zahid Safi and others participated in demonstrations and rallies in Islamabad, Peshawar, Lahore, Quetta, Karachi, Muzaffarabad and other cities.
Federal ministers including Khawaja Muhammad Asif and Qamar Zaman Kaira as well as Sindh provincial minister Saeed Ghani and other political leaders of Pakistan also participated in these demonstrations and rallies. Speaking to the media persons during these events, they said the entire Pakistani nation and the Kashmiri people reject the illegal and unilateral steps of 5th August 2019 taken by the Indian government in IIOJK. They also expressed solidarity with the oppressed people of IIOJK and reaffirmed Pakistan’s moral, political and diplomatic support to the Kashmir cause.
Meanwhile, the APHC-AJK leaders also presented a memorandum at the United Nations Observer office in Islamabad. On the occasion, they said the Modi regime’s action of abrogating Articles 370 and 35-A was unconstitutional, undemocratic and contrary to international law and UN resolutions on Kashmir. They maintained that the August 5 illegal move was also against the Indian constitution.
The APHC leaders pointed out that India was trying to change the Muslim majority in IIOJK into a minority, but asserted that the Kashmiris would foil its nefarious designs. They said the Kashmiri people were rendering sacrifices for the cause of freedom, adding that it was due to these sacrifices that the Kashmir dispute was alive at various international fora. The leaders urged the United Nations and world human rights organizations to take notice of Indian measures aimed at changing the demography of IIOJK as well as the massive human rights violations being perpetrated by Indian troops in the occupied territory.
