Dakshina Kannada (Karnatka, India), Aug 03 (KMS): Mahesh Shetty Timarodi, former leader of rightwing Vishwa Hindu Parishad, decried the politics of hate orchestrated by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with the help of Hindutva organisations.
Mahesh Shetty Timarodi, a former president of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), a Hindu right-wing group, claims that “we are the ones who began all this (murders) in name of Hindutva.”

He visited the family of deceased Bharatiya Janata Party Yuva Morcha leader Praveen Nettaru in Belthangady taluk of Karnataka’s Dakshina Kannada district. Speaking on this ocassion, he said, “We are on the wrong side today. Why? Because we are the ones who began all these in the name of Hindutva.“
He added that they may be attacked if they speak anything against right-wing organisations. “Not them (Muslims), but these BJP people will attack us. Their leaders will attack us,” he said.
He further said that it is the BJP workers who deserve to be beaten and not other ordinary people.
Praveen Nettaru, an active member of the BJPYM and RSS, was murdered on 26 July. A total of eight persons have been arrested so far in connection with the case.
