Mushaal lashes out UN’s criminal silence towards Yasin Malik

Islamabad, July 22 (KMS): Mushaal Hussein Mullick, the Chairperson of Peace and Culture Organisation (PCO), has lashed out at the criminal silence and callous attitude of world powers and the UN bodies towards illegally detained Kashmiri Hurriyat leader and her husband, Muhammad Yasin Malik.

Mushaal Mullick in a statement in Islamabad said that Yasin Malik announced fast unto death from today against denial of justice and fair trial to him by Indian kangaroo courts in false and fabricated cases registered against him.

She said she was saddened to even think that Yasin Malik, with his fast deteriorating health condition, has decided to go on a hunger strike. She said that he was implicated in fictitious and fabricated cases and was being subjected to politically vengeance as he was even denied the right of personal appearance in the ongoing trial in complete contravention of legal and democratic norms.

Therefore, Mushaal added that he was left with no legal recourse and he eventually took the decision of going on a hunger strike unto death in New Delhi’s infamous Tihar Jail. She went on to say: “His 10-year-old daughter Raziyah Sultana urged her father not to go on hunger strike, hoping the world will listen to the cry of this Kashmiri child.”

The PCO Chairperson urged the world and human right organizations to take notice of the grave human right violation of depriving Yasin Malik of all fundamental and legal rights and impress upon India to ensure his early and safe release.

She maintained that the Kashmiris’ struggle for the right to self-determination will continue and the draconian tactics of the Indian government cannot dampen the courage of brave Kashmiri people and they would take their freedom struggle to its logical conclusion at all costs.
