Two journalists shot at in Uttar Pradesh

Luknow, July 15 (KMS): Unidentified gunmen shot at and injured two journalists in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

The journalists identified as Shyam Sundar Pandey and Laddu Pandey, both in their mid-thirties, working for leading Hindi newspapers were fired upon while they were having tea at a restaurant under Raipur police station in Sonbhadra district of the state. They were rushed to a hospital where they were said to be out of danger.

“Two unidentified miscreants, who were on a bike and wearing helmets, opened two to three rounds of fire at a restaurant located in Kaliyari market, injuring the two journalists, Shyam Sundar Pandey and Laddu Pandey, and fled the spot,” the Sonbhadra Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), Vinod Kumar Singh said.

The incident triggered panic and the locals immediately informed the police.
