London, July 13 (KMS): Speakers at an online panel discussion have termed Hindutva ideology a threat to the peace and security of the world and called upon the international community and the United Nations to play their role in tackling it.
The discussion on “What is Hindutva ideology and how dangerous is it for peace in South Asian region” was organized by the UK YouTube channel “K News”. The discussion was hosted by Raja Aijaz Ahmad Shaikh while the participants included Syed Manzoor Hussain Shah, Kashmiri Hurriyat leader; Syed Adeeb, Washington-based journalist and director of Adeeb media group, Mirza Athar Shafiq, chairman of Kashmir Swiss Human Rights International and Kashmir Peace Forum; and Rehana Ali, Information Secretary of Tehreek-e-Kashmir, UK.
The speakers maintained that the Hindutva ideology is dangerous not only for South Asia but for the whole world. They said that the sole aim of this ideology put forward by Vinayak Damodar Savarkar in 1922 was to cleanse India of minorities and make it a Hindu Rashtra. They said that extremist Hindu organizations including Rashtriya Swayamsevak Singh (RSS), Bharatiya Janata Party, Vishva Hindu Parishad, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Bajrang Dal, Bharatiya Kishan Sangh and Shiv Sena were working for the same objective of furthering the Hindutva ideology. They said these organizations with extremist Hindu ideology were also known as Sangh Parivar.
The speakers said that the RSS had started hatching conspiracies against the integrity of Pakistan as soon as it came into being, while the same extremist party had a hand in the fall of Dhaka that resulted in the establishment of Bangladesh. They said that all these organizations believed in violent means for the Hindu supremacy and can go to any extent to impose their ideology. They said that the ideology of Hindutva was itself a threat to the survival of Hinduism and the Hindu society was also in grave danger due to the extremist organizations.
The speakers said that the very existence of India was in serious danger due to the extremism being pursued by the RSS and other extremist organizations. They said that these organizations consider Muslims and other minorities as an obstacle to India’s development and therefore openly threaten them to convert to Hinduism or leave India. They said that these extremist Hindu organizations have made the lives of Indian minorities miserable and they are forced to live like slaves.
The speakers maintained that the RSS is also active in UK and the US and is advancing its fascist ideology. They said that the BJP was in fact the political wing of the RSS and was furthering its Hindutva ideology. They said that the BJP, under the ideology of RSS, had made the life of the Muslims of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir a hell and was using every brutal tactic to turn the Muslim majority of the territory into a minority.
The speakers said that if the international community did not take steps to curb the dangerous ideology of Hindutva, it could prove extremely disastrous not only for South Asia but for the entire world.
