Speakers pay homage to Kashmiris for their unparalleled sacrifices

Islamabad, July 08 (KMS): A seminar was organized on the occasion of the sixth anniversary of popular youth leader, Burhan Wani, at the Kashmir House, Islamabad, to pay homage to the Kashmiris for their unparalleled sacrifices for right to self-determination.

The seminar “Genocide of Kashmiris to turn Muslim-majority status of Kashmir into minority” was organized by KMS and Friends of Kashmir.

The speakers paid homage to Burhan Wani and all the Kashmiri martyrs and said that Burhan Wani had rightly highlighted the struggle of the Kashmiris for the liberation of their motherland from Indian occupation.

They said that the youth should come forward for the leadership of the Kashmiri people and effectively highlight the Kashmir dispute, the struggle of Kashmiris for freedom from India and the Indian atrocities against the innocent Kashmiris through social media.

They further said that the Kashmiri leadership and the international community should go beyond mere statements and hold seminars and conferences and take practical steps for resolving the Kashmir dispute and stop the grave human rights violations in the occupied territory.

All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter leader Ghulam Muhammad Safi in his address said that the first priority of the international community should be to give the Kashmiri people their birthright to self-determination and the second priority should be to highlight serious human rights violations in the occupied territory.

Member of National Assembly Syed Fakhr Imam on the occasion said that the Kashmir dispute was taken to the United Nations by India itself and not by Pakistan.

Other speakers included former President of Azad Kashmir Sardar Muhammad Yaqub Khan, Senator Raja Zafar-ul-Haq, General (Retd) Amajad Shoaib, Ambassador Najam Saqib, Director of Pak-China Study Center Dr Talat Shabbir, Prof. Dr Arif Farhad, Chairman of Kashmir Institute of International Relations Altaf Wani, Hurriyat leaders Saleem Haroon, Abdul Hameed Lone and Dr Mujahid Gilani also attended the seminar.
