Jaipur, June 28 (KMS): Police in Udaipur city of the Indian state of Rajasthan are on alert following the murder of a tailor in Maldas area.
Shops have been shut, the police are on alert and Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has appealed for peace.
Calling the situation “painful” and “shameful”, Gehlot said a situation of animosity has been created, NDTV reported.
The murder is apparently linked to a series of inflammatory social media posts from two communities. The tailor is an accused in the case and was even questioned by the police.
Manoj Kumar, Superintendent of Police, Udaipur, said that few accused have been identified, adding that strict action will be taken against them.
