Saghar condemns killing of around dozen youth in fake encounters

Islamabad, June 21 (KMS): Convener of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter, Mahmood Ahmad Saghar, has strongly condemned the killing of around a dozen innocent Kashmiri youth by Indian troops in fake encounters in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir over the past three days.

Mahmood Ahmed Saghar in a statement issued in Islamabad said the freedom movements can never be suppressed by military force, and fascist Modi government will also fail to weaken Kashmiris’ spirit for freedom.

“Unarmed Kashmiri youths continue to be massacred in fake encounters during so-called siege and search operations in the occupied territory,” he said and added that the troops martyred Shaukat Ahmed, a youth from Shopian in a fake encounter in Kupwara, the other day. Police also confirmed his murder in custody. On June 7, SSP Shopian had confirmed Shaukat’s arrest during a press conference.

Saluting the determination, courage and perseverance of the Kashmiri people, Mahmood Saghar said that India should read the writing on the wall and grant the Kashmiris their inalienable right to self-determination. He appealed to the UN, OIC and human rights activists to take note of the plight of the Kashmiris and increase pressure on India to stop the human rights violations in Kashmir.

He also appealed to the delegates present at the ongoing UNHRC meeting in Geneva to raise the sufferings of the oppressed people of Jammu and Kashmir at the global forum.

Meanwhile, APHC-AJK leader, Altaf Ahmed Butt, addressing a press conference in Islamabad lashed out at the Modi-led Indian fascist government’s fresh acts of educational terrorism in IIOJK. He said that the Modi regime after failing to suppress the freedom movement of Kashmir despite exhausting all the inhumane and illegal acts was now targeting education to destroy the future of youth in the occupied territory.

Altaf Butt pointed out that last week Indian authorities banned hundreds of schools affiliated with the Falah-e-Aam Trust (FAT). Today, he said, Jammiyat us Saalihat – A Darul ul Uloom of Marhamma, Islamabad (Anantnag), was seized by the Indian authorities. He urged the developed world and international organizations to shun their silence on Indian brutal actions in IIOJK and force New Delhi to take back its decisions and let the Kashmiris decide their fate by themselves as per the UN resolutions.

Meanwhile, Pasban-e-Hurriyat leader Uzair Ahmad Ghazali in a statement in Muzaffarabad also strongly condemned the killing of Kashmiri youth by Indian troops in occupied Kashmir.
