TeH leader Owaisi arrested in Srinagar, sent to Kot Bhalwal jail in Jammu

Srinagar, June 11 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian police have arrested Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir (TeH) leader Muhammad Rafique Owaisi.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the police arrested the the Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leader under draconian Public Safety Act (PSA) and sent him to Kot Bhalwal jail in Jammu.

Meanwhile, the Convener of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir, Ghulam Muhammad Safi in a statement issued in Islamabad denounced the arrest of party leader, Muhammad Rafique Owaisi and described it a serious violation of basic human rights.

He said that arrests and other oppressive tactics could not prevent the people of Kashmir from their just struggle for right to self-determination.

Ghulam Muhammad Safi urged the Indian authorities to immediately release all illegally detained Hurriyat leaders and activists, including Muhammad Rafique Owaisi, languishing in different jails of India and the occupied territory and also create conducive environment for peaceful settlement of the Kashmir dispute.
