#BlasphemyByBJPStalwarts
Srinagar, June 10 (KMS): Complete shutdown was observed, today, in Srinagar and other parts of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir to register protest against the derogatory remarks of the Indian ruling Bharatiya Janata Party’s officials on Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Shops and business establishments were closed while traffic was off the road in Srinagar and many other areas of the occupied territory. The traders kept their shops and businesses closed even as the Indian Army and police had threatened them of dire consequences if they observed the shutdown.
The occupation authorities imposed curfew in Kishtwar, Doda and Ramban districts of Jammu region and deployed Indian troops and police personnel in strength across the Kashmir Valley to stop people from holding demonstrations against the BJP leaders’ blasphemous remarks. The authorities snapped internet services in Srinagar city and in several districts of Jammu region. The authorities also locked Jamia Masjid Srinagar and many other main mosques of the territory, disallowing people to offer Juma prayers. However, despite heavy deployment of Indian forces’ personnel, people took out protest rallies in Srinagar, Badgam and other areas demanding stringent punishment to the blasphemers.
Meanwhile, senior leader of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, in a statement in Srinagar said, anti-Kashmir and anti-Muslim measures are a trademark of the Narendra Modi-led BJP government in India. He deplored that on one hand, the BJP leaders were using derogatory language against Islam and the holy Prophet (PBUH) to appease their constituencies across India, while on the other, they were not allowing the people of IIOJK to raise their voice against it. He strongly condemned the authorities for repeatedly closing down the Jamia Masjid Srinagar for Juma prayers.
Another senior APHC leader, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi, addressing a gathering in Badgam said that the derogatory remarks of BJP leader Nupur Sharma against the Holy Prophet (PBUH) are intolerable for Muslims.
On the other hand, the President of Tehreek-e-Kashmir, UK, Raja Fahim Kayani addressing a news conference in Birmingham urged the Kashmiri diaspora groups across the world to raise their voice in a unified manner for settlement of the Kashmir dispute. He said Tehreek-e-Kashmir, UK, will conduct various programs across Europe in the current month to highlight India’s crimes and its fascist actions in the UN-designated disputed territory of IIOJK.
