‘Kashmiris’ sacrifices for freedom unforgettable’

Islamabad, Jun 01 (KMS): Former Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Raja Farooq Haider Khan, has said that the sacrifices of Kashmiri people for freedom from Indian illegal occupation are unforgettable.

Addressing at the All Parties Consultative Conference on the Kashmir dispute titled “The Way Forward” in Islamabad, today, Raja Farooq Haider suggested that a delegation of Kashmiri leaders should visit different countries to highlight the Kashmir cause.

“We are grateful to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and the entire Pakistani nation for raising their voice on Kashmir. It needs to be made effective and all suggestions need to be implemented,” he said.

Raja Farooq Haider said that the Kashmiris should be given an opportunity to present their case before the world where they would be listened more attentively which would have more effect.
Another former AJK Prime Minister Sardar Abdul Qayyum Khan Niazi in his address called for in-camera conference on the Kashmir issue under the auspicious of the Ministry of Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan. He said that collective efforts were needed to highlight the Kashmir dispute at appropriate world forums with full dedication.

Niazi maintained that unfair trial of Kashmiri Hurriyat leader, Yasin Malik, by Indian kangaroo courts was not acceptable to Kashmiris and the Muslim Ummah.

Additional Secretary Foreign Affairs Mumtaz Zehra said that India wanted to change Muslim majority into minority in IIOJK. She said that Indian troops were killing innocent Kashmiris everyday besides perpetrating violent acts against women and students to suppress the ongoing Kashmir freedom movement.

Pakistan is taking solid steps to counter India’s negative propaganda against Pakistan at international level, she said, adding that after the abrogation of special status of IIOJK, non-Kashmiris could purchase the property and run the business in the occupied territory.
