Life imprisonment to Yasin Malik by Indian NIA court condemned

Jammu, May 27 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, APHC leaders Devinder Singh Behl and Abdul Samad Inqilabi have condemned in the strongest terms the biased decision of life imprisonment to Hurriyat leader, Yasin Malik, by a court of India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) in false cases.
Devinder Singh Behl in a statement issued in Jammu said that India was in fact using shameful tactics to suppress the voice of the Kashmiris.
He said Yasin Malik is a political leader illegally detained by India in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail. He urged the international community to play its role in releasing Yasin Malik and other illegally detained Hurriyat leaders and activists.
Devinder Singh Behl asked India to read the writing on the wall and come forward to resolve the lingering Kashmir dispute in accordance with the United Nations resolutions and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
Hurriyat leader, Abdul Samad Inqilabi, in his statement issued in Srinagar said that killings, detention and other inhuman tactics could not prevent the people of Kashmir from their just struggle for right to self-determination. He said that sentencing of life imprisonment to Yasin Malik would provide fresh impetus to the Kashmiris’ freedom movement.
APHC-AJK leader Syed Aijaz Rehmani in a statement issued in Islamabad said the punishment is unfair and against the fundamental principles of justice. He said that the decision had exposed the Indian mindset towards Kashmir, adding that such oppressive measures could not weaken the resolve of the Kashmiri people and they would continue their struggle till complete success.
