Yasin Malik kept in separate cell: Tihar jail officials

New Delhi, May 26 (KMS): The illegally detained Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, has been kept in a separate cell under heavy security in India’s infamous Tihar Jail.

A day after a court of India’s notorious National Investigation Agency in Delhi sentenced Muhammad Yasin Malik for life in a fake case, Tihar prison authorities said he has been kept in a separate cell under heavy security.

“For security reasons, Malik may not be assigned any work in jail. He has been kept in a separate cell in jail number seven under heavy security. His security will be regularly monitored and reviewed from time to time,” a senior jail official claimed.

The officials said that Malik will also not be entitled to any parole or furlough.

Even before being awarded life imprisonment, Malik was kept in the separate cell where he stayed alone in jail number seven, they said.

According to the Indian Supreme Court, life imprisonment means incarceration for entire life.
