Demos in Peshawar against illegal detention of Kashmiri leaders, conviction of Yasin Malik

Peshawar, May 25 (KMS): Protests and rallies were held in different universities of Peshawar against the continued illegal detention of Kashmiri Hurriyat leaders and the conviction of Muhammad Yasin Malik by an Indian court in a false case registered against him.

According to Kashmir Media Service, a large number of local and foreign students attended the demonstrations and rallies organized by Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter of Shabab-e-Muslimeen Jammu and Kashmir leaders Tanveer Durrani and Osama Qureshi. Office-bearers and workers of various student organizations also participated in the events.

The protesters called upon the international community, especially the Muslim countries and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to take cognizance of the victimization of Muhammad Yasin Malik and other Kashmiri detainees by the Modi government and play a role for their early release.

The speakers of these events strongly condemned the Indian brutalities on Kashmiris and the imprisonment of Hurriyat leaders. They said the people of Pakistan will continue their support to the oppressed people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir till they achieve freedom from the Indian yoke.
