New Delhi, May 14 (KMS): Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader, Manish Sisodia, has said that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) plans to demolish 63 lakh houses using bulldozers in an anti-encroachment drive in the Indian capital.
Addressing a virtual press briefing, Manish Sisodia said the BJP-led Delhi Municipal Corporation intends to raze 63 lakh dwellings in the city, of which 60 lakh are located in unauthorised colonies and slums. He said this will leave almost 70% of Delhi’s population homeless.
Sisodia said that he has written to the Union Home Minister Amit Shah urging him to stop the demolitions being conducted in the Indian capital during the anti-encroachment drives under the BJP-ruled civic body. “If bulldozers are to be used, they should be used to demolish the houses of those BJP leaders and civic body representatives who took bribes to allow such structures to be constructed,” he has stated in the letter.
