FS says OIC stance on Kashmir will encourage their valiant struggle for self-determination

Islamabad, March 26 (KMS): Foreign Secretary, Sohail Mahmood, has said that principled position of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on the Kashmir dispute is a source of solace and strength for the Kashmiri people in their valiant struggle for self-determination.

According to Kashmir Media Service, he said this while talking to Heads of OIC Missions in Islamabad.

The foreign secretary said successful hosting of the 48th Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers reaffirms Pakistan’s proactive role within the organization to strengthen bonds of solidarity among member States.

He said the event will also serve as a guiding principle of Pakistan’s chairmanship of the Council of Foreign Minister, which has the thematic focus of “Partnering for Unity, Justice and Development”.

Welcoming the adoption of the resolution on “Peace and Security in South Asia”, Sohail Mahmood maintained that the text reflected the OIC’s deep interest in the maintenance of peace and security in the region. He said OIC’s call for joint probe into the incident of 9 March 2022 involving a supersonic missile launched into the territory of Pakistan from India is a clear example of OIC stance in this regard.
