Omar Abdullah says many lies projected in “The Kashmir Files”

Srinagar, March 18 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Vice Chairman of National Conference, Omar Abdullah, has termed the film “The Kashmir Files”, as a concocted story saying that many lies have been projected in the movie.

Omar Abdullah talking to reporters on the sidelines of a rally in Kulgam district of South Kashmir said that it wasn’t the NC government in 1990 but a governor’s rule under the VP Singh’s regime in India.

Omar Abdullah said firstly, it wasn’t clear whether the movie was a documentary or a film. “If it is a documentary then it was alright, but the makers have themselves claimed that the movie was based on reality. But the fact is that many lies have been projected in the film and the biggest one is that it has been wrongly shown that there was a National Conference government. The fact is that it was Governor’s rule in 1990 in Kashmir when Kashmiri Pandits left Kashmir. In India it was the BJP-backed government headed by VP Singh,” he said.

The NC leader said that not just Kashmiri Pandits were displaced and killed in IIOJK but Muslims and Sikhs too were killed. “Muslims and Sikhs have also migrated from Kashmir who haven’t returned yet,” he said. He said it was regrettable that Kashmiri Pandits fled their homes in the Kashmir Valley but the NC tried and continues to play its part to bring them back safely. “But “The Kashmir Files” movie has spoiled such plans,” he said.
