Anti-India protest rally held in Muzaffarabad

Muzaffarabad, February 23 (KMS): A protest rally was organized in Muzaffarabad, today, against the Kunanposhpora mass rape perpetrated by Indian troops in the Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir on this day in 1991.

The participants of the rally held by the International Forum for Justice and Human Rights Jammu and Kashmir demanded of the world community to take action against India over its brutalities on the people of IIOJK.

A large number of women, girls and boys participated in the rally. It was led by International Forum for Justice Vice Chairman Mushtaq-ul-Salam, Chairman Pasban-e-Hurriyat Uziar Ahmad Ghazali, Member Kashmir Legislative Assembly Nisara Abbasi, Vice Chairman Pasban-e-Hurriyat Usman Ali Hashim, Principal Read Foundation Ambur Abdul Ahad Lone, Principal Burhan Shaheed College Syed Hamza Shaheen, Principal Um-e-Habiba School Siddique Dawood, Syed Amir Shah, Qari Abdul Karim Shah and others.

Addressing the rally, the speakers said that on February 23, 1991, terrorists from the 4th Rajputana Battalion of the Indian Army attacked the chastity of Kashmiri women in Kunanposhpora area of Kupwara district and raped around a hundred women. They said that neither disciplinary action was taken against these terrorist soldiers and their officers nor were these ruthless terrorists brought to book.

The speakers said the ruthless Indian government has always used the rape as a weapon of war to crush the Kashmir freedom movement. They called upon international human rights organizations to impress upon India to stop its state terrorism in IIOJK.

The speakers strongly condemned the illegal detention of Chairman International Forum for Justice Muhammad Ahsan Untoo and Hurriyat leaders, activists and journalists in IIOJK. They demanded release of all illegally detained Kashmiris.

The anti-India protesters marched on Rawalpindi Road and chanted slogans against Narendra Modi and Indian Army.
