Srinagar, February 18 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, in an exemplary display of communal harmony, Muslims today performed the last rites of a Kashmiri Pandit in south Kashmir’s Islamabad district.
Nand Lal Sharma, a resident of Akura area of Mattan in the district died Friday morning after a brief illness. He was a school Headmaster in the education department.
After the news of his death broke, his neighbours arranged wood for the funeral pyre and performed his last rites.
“We feel we have lost one of our own. He was just like my elder brother and I used to take suggestions from him before taking any step,” a local, Ghulam Mohammad, said.
Another local Gulzar Ahmad said, “To help our neighbors irrespective of their religion is our duty which we performed. We have lost a dear friend who stood with us in the best and the worst of times.” KMS—19M
