Yousuf Pathan posts picture with burqa-clad wife to throw weight behind hijab
New Delhi, February 16 (KMS): Amid growing controversy over hijab in India, all-rounder Yousuf Pathan posted a picture with his wife, clad in burqa, on the social media to throw his weight behind the Muslim women wearing hijab.
Yousuf Pathan’s picture with his burqa-clad wife was appreciated by the Muslims in India, while Hindu extremists criticized him.
The hijab row started last month in Udupi Pre-University College by six girl students, who were disallowed to attend the classes. The act of banning hijab has snowballed into a major crisis in Karnataka, India, and has been discussed at international levels too.
