OIC hailed for raising concern over genocidal calls in India

Islamabad, February 16 (KMS): APHC-AJK Convener Muhammad Farooq Rehmani and other Hurriyat AJK leaders have welcomed the statement of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) wherein it has expressed deep concern over recent public calls for the genocide of Muslims during the Hindu gatherings in India.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani and other Hurriyat leaders in their statements issued in Islamabad while hailing the OIC statement urged the Muslim body to impress upon India to stop killing in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and grant the Kashmiris the right to decide their future through plebiscite.

The OIC in its statement had said, “The continued attacks targeting Muslims and their places of worship, the recent trend of anti-Muslim legislations in different States and rising incidents of violence against Muslims on flimsy pretexts by ‘Hindutva’ groups with impunity, are indicative of the growing trend of Islamophobia”.

The OIC General Secretariat also called upon the international community, especially the UN mechanisms and Special Procedures of the Human Rights Council, to take necessary measures in this regard.

The Kashmiri leaders said that India is involved in genocide of the Kashmiri people and the OIC should force New Delhi to stop its efforts to effect demographic changes in Kashmir.
