UN Secretary General’s statement on Kashmir welcomed

Srinagar, January 23 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, All Parties Hurriyat Conference leaders Abdul Ahad Parra and Masroor Abbas have welcomed the statement made by United Nations Secretary General António Guterres for a just solution to the Kashmir dispute and respect for the rights of the Kashmiris

Hurriyat leader Abdul Ahad Parra in a statement in Srinagar feared that if the Kashmir dispute was further delayed , not only the Kashmiri people would face the worst human rights violations but a war-like situation would also arise between the two nuclear powers, India and Pakistan, which would affect the whole South Asia. He urged the international community to resolve the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people at the earliest so that permanent peace could be established in the region.

APHC leader Masroor Abbas in a statement urged the UN chief to facilitate tripartite talks among Pakistan, India and the people of Jammu and Kashmir to find a lasting solution to the Kashmir dispute. He urged UN Security Council to mediate the talks.
