Muzaffarabad, January 20 (KMS): A protest demonstration was held in Muzaffarabad, today, against the continued Indian brutalities in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
A large number of people participated in the protest organized under the aegis of Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir. Holding banners and placards, the protesters called upon the United Nations to fore India to stop its state terrorism and give the Kashmiris their right to self-determination by holding a plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir.
The protesters were chanting slogans against India and in favour of Kashmir’s freedom from Indian illegal occupation.
Addressing the protesters, Chairman Pasban-e-Hurriyat Uzair Ahmed Ghazali said that the people of IIOJK had been deprived of the basic human rights for the last several decades. He said, on August 5, 2019, the tyrannical and ruthless Indian government repealed the special status of IIOJK later issued domiciles to hundreds of thousands of Indian citizens to convert the Muslim majority into a minority.
Other speakers appealed to the UN and world human rights organizations to hold Indi accountable for its brutalities in IIOJK.
Shaukat Javed Mir, Syed Abdul Samad, Bilal Ahmed Farooqi, Usman Ali Hashim, Dr Muhammad Manzoor, Raja Zakheer Khan, Javed Ahmed Mughal, Faisal Farooq and others were also present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, APHC-AJK leader Altaf Ahmed Butt in a statement in Islamabad condemned the Indian occupation administration’s armed coup of Kashmir Press Club.
