Srinagar, January 07 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the PDP President, Mehbooba Mufti, has said that the Kashmiri people should resist the new laws being imposed by the Indian government in the territory.
Mehbooba Mufti speaking to reporters in Bijbehara town after offering prayers at the grave of her father and PDP founder, late Mufti Sayeed, on his 6th death anniversary, appealed to people to join hands against the Indian government’s move to hand over Kashmir’s land to outsiders.
“It’s time to join hands. Whether it’s Kashmiris, Dogras, Bakerwals, Pahari or Gujjar, if they don’t wake up and unite now, the youths will have no land left to step, the way land summits are being held. We need to put up a fight and not to lose hope,” she said.
She said they will continue the struggle till the Modi regime does not return what was snatched from the Kashmiri along with interest. Besides, the Kashmir issue, which has left thousands dead and thousand widows, need to be addressed, she said.
A large number of PDP workers had gathered at the graveyard in Bijbehara where they held a protest against the authorities for not allowing them to enter the graveyard. Led by the PDP president, the workers shouted slogans against the authorities.
Meanwhile, the PDP leader, Nayeem Akhtar talking to media persons in Bijbehara said the authorities are afraid of genuine political activities and that’s why they are not allowing the party to hold programmes.
He said, “People do not have the right to speak. People do not have the right to offer Fateh Khwani for their leaders. Do we have to behave like slaves? We are not their slaves, we are the citizens of Kashmir with full rights.”
