Info Minister urges UNSC to fulfill promise of granting Right to Self-Determination to Kashmiris

Islamabad, January 05 (KMS): Pakistan Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has urged the United Nations Security Council to fulfill its promise of granting the Right to Self-Determination to people of Jammu and Kashmir.

In a message on the occasion of the Kashmiris’ Right to Self-Determination Day, today, he reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to continue all-out support to the Kashmiris till realization of their due rights by the United Nations.

He said 73 years have passed since that promise was made to the Kashmiris, but unfortunately it has not been fulfilled till today.

The Information Minister said a peaceful solution of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN resolutions is vital to promote peace and stability in South Asia.

Chaudhary Fawad Hussain expressed regret that India has turned Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir into a huge prison, where arresting people, detaining Hurriyat leaders and imposing curfews and sanctions has become a matter of routine.
