Minor girl raped and killed, woman sarpanch murdered in India
New Delhi, December 28 (KMS): A five-year-old girl was raped and strangulated to death in Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.
The missing girl’s body was found wrapped in a cloth on the roof of her house in Sohagpur area of Hoshangabad district, police said.
A preliminary autopsy report suggested she was raped and then strangulated to death.
The police have picked up a person living in the victim’s neighbourhood and he is being questioned, the official claimed.
Meanwhile, a woman sarpanch was killed and her naked body was dumped in bushes in Raigad district of Maharashtra state. Her body was spotted by a local youth. The woman’s body had injury marks.
The woman was identified as sarpanch of a local gram panchayat. Police were called to the spot. The locals took her body to a government hospital where she was declared brought dead. The police were investigating whether the woman was sexual assaulted.
