India grossly violating international law in IIOJK: GA Gulzar

Srinagar, December 22 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Vice Chairman, Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar, has said that India is grossly violating the international law in Jammu and Kashmir, which is a disputed territory recognized by the United Nations Security Council and the world community.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar in a statement issued in Srinagar said, India by using its more than one million military and paramilitary troops has converted the disputed territory into a colony of the stone-age when the people used to be treated as slaves without having the fundamental rights.

He strongly condemned the illegal allotment of 6 additional Assembly seats to the Hindu-dominated Jammu division, privatization of the Power Development Department, exploitation of the natural resources of the territory by the Narendra Modi-led fascist Indian government. He said, the RSS ideology adopted by the BJP-led Modi regime has crafted Kashmir as an election winning card in India where the fascist voters rejoice the untold atrocities inflicted on the besieged people of IIOJK by the Indian occupational forces.

The APHC Vice Chairman said, bulldozing the constitutional bases, repealing the state laws and changing the Muslim majority character of IIOJK are the nefarious designs of India which the people of Kashmir shall never allow to happen. He reaffirmed the strong commitment and affiliation of the Kashmiris with the ongoing resistance movement against the Indian illegal occupation and said that despite the illegal detention of the whole APHC leadership and more than six thousand other activists, the Kashmiris’ morale is high enough to defeat the Indian onslaught on their freedom struggle. He advised New Delhi to read the pulse of the freedom-loving Kashmiri people whose sense of alienation has crossed its limits.

Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar urged the United Nations Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, to take cognizance of genocide, extrajudicial killings, arbitrary arrests and human rights abuses by Indian troops in IIOJK and fulfill his obligations regarding the settlement of the long-pending Kashmir dispute. “Resolution of Kashmir dispute has become highly imperative for the regional and global peace and prosperity, he maintained.

Meanwhile, the Kashmir Tehreek-e-Khawateen Chairperson, Zamruda Habib, and General Secretary, Shameem Shawl, in a joint statement appealed to the international community to take cognizance of the fact that India is violating International laws and involved in gross human rights violations in IIOJK.

They expressed serious concern over the privatization of the Power Development Department. They said the approval of new land laws by the Indian regime to allow the use of agricultural land for non-agricultural purposes is a part of New Delhi’s anti-Kashmir policy aimed at weakening the local economy and changing the demography of Jammu and Kashmir which is violation of the UN resolutions and international laws.

They called upon the United Nations, European Union and OIC to play their role in settling the Kashmir dispute as per the UN resolutions.

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League Vice Chairman, Syed Aijaz Rehmani, in a statement issued in Islamabad deplored that Indian troops are brutally killing and arresting innocent people in IIOJK.

He appealed to the world community to take note of the Indian atrocities in IIOJK and force New Delhi to give the Kashmiri people their birthright to self-determination.
