Srinagar, December 17 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, APHC leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Political Movement (DPM), Khawaja Firdous has strongly condemned the arrest of a woman and her daughter and the continued illegal arrest of party leader, Pir Hilal, under black law, Public Safety Act (PSA).
Khawaja Firdous addressing a special meeting in Srinagar on the reorganization of DPM said that the Indian authorities were using all nefarious tactics to suppress the Kashmiris’ freedom struggle and lodge the freedom-loving people in jails.
He deplored that human rights violations by Indian troops in the occupied territory had increased alarmingly, adding that if anyone raises voice against the Indian atrocities in IIOJK, he is arrested immediately.
The DPM leader reiterated the Kashmiris’ resolve to continue the freedom movement till it reached its logical conclusion. He said that without resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people and the UN resolutions, lasting peace could not be established in the region.
Earlier, Khawaja Firdous in the meeting was re-elected as party chairman while Shah Nawaz Ahmad Khan was elected Acting General Secretary, Shakeel Ahmed Butt, Coordinator, Shoaib Butt, chief organizer and Ashraf Aalam was elected as party spokesperson.
Similarly, Advocate Pervez Ahmed has been retained as Senior Vice Chairman of the party and Representative of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Kashmir chapter.
