Killing of 15 Nagaland civilians by Indian Army prompts actress to demand repeal of AFSPA, UAPA

New Delhi, December 06 (KMS): Indian actress Swara Bhasker has called for the repeal of two black laws – Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) after the killing of 15 civilians by Indian army in Nagaland, the other day.

Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker, who is known for her blunt remarks over issues facing society, made the demand on her Twitter account.

At least 15 civilians were killed by Indian army in Mon district of Nagaland .The incident took place between Oting and Tiru villages when some daily-wage labourers were returning home in a pick-up van from a coal mine in the evening on December 4, the police said.

The vehicle was fired upon by the Indian Army personnel, who were conducting an operation in the area, an official said.
