Call for return of bodies of all fake encounter victims since 2020

Srinagar, November 22 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the International Forum for Justice Human Rights Jammu and Kashmir has demanded the return of the bodies of all Kashmiri people killed by Indian occupational forces in fake encounters since March 2020 including the body of martyr Athar Mushtaq Wani.

IFJHRJK Chairman Muhammad Ahsan Untoo in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the denial of bodies to their families is against the principles of humanity and also the International laws and Geneva Conventions.

Untoo said that all the dead have a right to a respectful burial according to the wishes of the martyrs and their heirs. Denying bodies violates the basic principles of humanity.

Untoo said that at least 83 people have been buried in Kashmir valley, away from their homes at far off places, against the wishes of their families, since the beginning of 2020.

Untoo appealed to the families of the martyrs killed in various staged operations to unanimously organize a protest demonstration on the 29th of November to press for the return of their bodies. He also asked civil society, the Bar Association and trader community to join the protest by the victim families.

He urged the Modi government to allow an international organisation to probe the slaughter of Kashmiris in Hyderpora so that the justice is served to the families of the victim.
