DFP denounces arrest spree, CASOs in IIOJK

Srinagar, November 15 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party has voiced serious concern over the ongoing arrest spree and unabated cordon and search operations by the Indian forces’ personnel in different areas of the territory.

In a statement issued in Srinagar on Monday, the DFP spokesman, Advocate Arshad Iqbal while referring to the massive crackdown launched by the Indian troops in Poonch and Reasi districts said that dozens of people, mostly young boys were arrested by the Indian forces on frivolous charges.

He said that the Indian troops have also launched operations in Khojpora Zainpora, Pirpora Keegam and Chitragam areas of Shopian district. Terming it as a deliberate attempt to harass Kashmiris he said that the Modi government must bear in mind the fact that such wicked tactics won’t deter Kashmiri masses from pursuing their noble cause for which they have rendered matchless sacrifices.

The spokesman also voiced his party’s serious concern over the plight of the incarcerated party chairman Shabbir Ahmed Shah and other Kashmiri detainees languishing in different jails in and outside the valley.

The illegal detention of Kashmiri prisoners, he said, was a flagrant violation of basic human rights guaranteed under the international law and other human rights treaties.

Demanding urgent release of all political prisoners he said that India was using detentions as an effective tool to punish Kashmiri political activists who have refused to accept the Indian’s false and fabricated narratives on the Kashmir dispute.
