Speakers pay tributes to Jammu martyrs of November 1947

Islamabad, November 06 (KMS): Freedom-loving organizations, Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement, Jammu and Kashmir Pir Panjal Freedom Movement and Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Association held a function in Islamabad, today, to pay homage to the Jammu martyrs of 1947.

The President of Azadi Jammu and Kashmir, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry was chief guest of the function while it was attended by a large number of political leaders, intellectuals and journalists.

Convener of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter, Mohammad Farooq Rahmani, Hurriyat leaders Mohammad Yousuf Naseem, Mohammad Saleem Wani, Abdul Majeed Malik, Abdul Hameed Lone, Zahid Safi, Qazi Imran, Maryam Idrees and Siddiq-ul- Farooq addressed on the occasion.

Social activists Andaleeb Akbar, Gulshan Minhas, Khola Khan, Haniya Aftab, Sakina Saduzai and others also attended the conference. Senior journalists, Muhammad Nawaz and Sultan Sikandar also addressed the function.

Addressing the function, the AJK President, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry paid rich tributes to the martyrs of Jammu. He said that a memorial in the name of martyrs of Jammu would be set up in Sialkot district of Punjab.

Other speakers, addressing the function, paid homage to the martyrs of Jammu of November 1947 and said that India had started genocide of Kashmiris from day one which is still going on.

They demanded of the international community to take notice of the Indian atrocities in the occupied territory and play role in resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the United Nations resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

At the end of the function, a special prayer was offered for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs of Jammu and Kashmir.
