Demo in Muzaffarabad against arrest of Kashmiri students in India

Muzaffarabad, November 02 (KMS): A protest demonstration was held in Muzaffarabad, today, against the thrashing and arresting of Kashmiri students in India.

A large number of local students took part in the demonstration organized under the auspices of International Forum for Justice Human Rights JK. They chanted slogans such as “Indian oppression unacceptable”, “Unfounded cases against Kashmiri students unacceptable”. The protesters called upon the United Nations and international human rights organizations to take cognizance of the arrest of innocent Kashmiri students.

Vice Chairman International Forum for Justice Human Rights, Mushtaqul Islam; Principal Burhan Shaheed College, Hamza Shaheen; Principal Read Foundation High School, Abdul Ahad Lone and Chairman Refugee Youth Federation Siddique Daud, apart from students of Burhan Shaheed College and Read Foundation High School participated in the demonstration.

Addressing the protesters, the speakers said that India was a tyrannical and oppressive country which was committing grave human rights violations in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. They said India, which claims to be the largest democracy of the world has crossed all limits of extremism and has made the life for Muslims difficult.

They said that Indian government had registered baseless cases against the Kashmiri students and arrested them for cheering Pakistan cricket team on its victory against India in the ongoing T-20 World Cup in the UAE. They said that the Kashmiri students in Indian universities and colleges were at risk and the international community should play its role to protect them.

The speakers said that the fascist Indian government was perpetrating atrocities on the Muslims in India and in IIOJK. They said that Modi regime was promoting terrorism in the region and was pursuing the extremist agenda of RSS and BJP which was a threat to the regional as well as global peace. They demanded of the world human rights organizations to intervene immediately and play role in the release of the Kashmiri students.

The protesters also took out an anti-India rally in the area.
