New Delhi, September 27 (KMS): Female personnel in Indian armed forces have been reduced to the position of mere sex objects and their presence in a camp or base converts into more of a brothel than a forces’ camp or base with the latest such scandal taking place at the Indian Air Force facility in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
An officer of the Indian Air Force was arrested in the Tamil Nadu state of India for raping a colleague. The police told media that the alleged sexual assault took place ten days ago.
“Yes, he was arrested yesterday and sent to judicial custody for two days,” Senior police official Deepak Damon confirmed to the media.
The accused officer, a 29-year-old Flight Lieutenant, investigators say, had come from Chattisgarh for training at the Air Force facility near Race Course, in Coimbatore, the second largest city in Tamil Nadu.
“A case of sexual assault under section 376 has been registered.
Earlier, India Today in a report titled “Large majority of Special Frontier Force officers involved in messy sex scandal” has reported that nearly 500 female personnel have been reduced to the position of sex objects and whose presence has turned the SFF headquarters at Chakrata, north of Dehra Dun, into more of a brothel than the nerve centre of a top secret organisation.
“The females – most of them between the ages of 19 and 30 were recruited from among the Tibetan exiles in India on a specific five-year contract as “volunteer trainees” in the capacity of radio operators, nursing assistants and clerical staff.”
