Funeral prayers in absentia for Syed Ali Gilani held at Parliament House

Islamabad, September 02 (KMS): Ghaibana Namaz-e-Janaza for veteran Kashmiri Hurriyat leader, Syed Ali Gilani was held at the parliament in Islamabad on Thursday.

It was attended amongst others by President Dr. Arif Alvi, Senate Chairman, Sadiq Sanjrani, the President and the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir and the parliamentarians.

Later, talking to the PTV News, President Arif Alvi paid tributes to the services of Syed Ali Gilani for the cause of Kashmiris. He said the people like him will continue to born in Kashmir.

The President regretted that promises made by the international community with Kashmiri people have not been fulfilled. He said the Kashmiri people are facing the worst Indian oppression.

He said Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) will soon get freedom from the cruel Indian clutches.

The President said, Modi government is stoking fire within India through its oppressive tactics against minorities.

In his remarks, the AJK President, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry said, the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir want to become part of Pakistan. He said the world community should take notice of the situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
