Teenage Afghan boy detained in IIOJK

Jammu, September 01 (KMS): Despite having proper travel documents, the police in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) arrested a teenage Afghan boy from Kathua district of the territory.

The police detained a 17-year old Afghanistan citizen in Kathua after he was caught near Covid 19 testing facility at Lakhanpur – the gateway of IIOJK.

SSP Kathua R C Kotwal talking to media persons stated that the minor was apprehended by a police at a check point at Lakhanpur. During preliminary investigation, the boy revealed that he had come along with his brother, a soldier in the Afghan army, presently undergoing treatment in New Delhi’s RR Hospital.

He said that the boy had travelled with a valid document. Nevertheless, the authenticity of his documents was being verified through Foreigners Registration Office (FRO) which deals with the registration of foreigners and their visa extension, he added.
