Modi regime likely to ban Hurriyat under black law UAPA
Srinagar, August 22 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Modi-led fascist regime is likely to impose a ban under black law, Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, on the All Parties Hurriyat Conference and Miwaiz led Hurriyat forum to stifle their voice for freedom.
As per officials, the Hurriyat is likely to be banned under Section 3(1) of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, or the UAPA, under which “if the Indian Government is of opinion that any association is, or has become, an unlawful association, it may, by notification in the Official Gazette, declare such association to be unlawful.”
They said the proposal was mooted in accordance with the New Delhi’s policy against the Kashmiris’ demand of right to self determination.
So far, the Modi government has banned the Jamaat-e-Islami and the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front under the draconian law, UAPA in 2019.
