Srinagar, August 19 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement (JKSM) has strongly condemned the arrest of prominent Hurriyat leader, Zafar Akbar Butt, and three other persons under false charges.
The JKSM spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Indian police arrested Zafar Akbar Butt and others on baseless allegations, a tactic used against IIOJK leaders to put them behind bars in different jails of India. He said Indian government is using dirty tactics to suppress the Kashmiris’ voice and punish those who seek freedom from India’s illegal occupation of their homeland.
The JKSM spokesman said arrest of Zafar Akbar Butt and maligning his family members, including Altaf Ahmed Butt, who have rendered sacrifices in the ongoing Kashmir freedom movement is a cruel, inhuman and illegal act.
Indian Army demolished two houses of Butt family with explosive material in Srinagar in 1995 to break the will of its members, but they are still standing firm for the freedom from Indian illegal occupation, the statement said.
The spokesman pointed out that the BJP-led Indian government is using nefarious tactics to leave the IIOJK people leaderless and subdue their freedom sentiment through its military might. However, he maintained that India’s nefarious tactics will not be able to suppress the freedom movement rather New Delhi’s stubbornness and oppression will further strengthen the Kashmiris’ resolve to get rid of Indian subjugation.
