Farmers to hold protest marches on Indian Independence Day

#UnrelentingIndianFarmersProtests

New Delhi, August 14 (KMS): Indian farmers protesting against the three black agri laws have decided to observe India’s Independence Day on Sunday (August 15) as ‘Kisan Mazdoor Azadi Sangram Diwas’.

The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM), the farmers’ unions’ body, has said that on India’s Independence Day, the farmers will hold flag marches and repeat their demands of repealing the three agri laws. Calls to repeal 3 farm laws will be reiterated during Independence Day rallies proposed by Indian farmers.

The three agricultural laws introduced by Modi government in September last year have sparked one of India’s biggest protests. Farmers across India have been protesting against these laws since November last year. New farm laws introduced by Modi regime are meant to undermine Indian farmers’ autonomy. Tens of thousands of Indian farmers want unconditional repeal of Modi-introduced new farm laws.
