Modi regime intensifies its efforts to Indianise IIOJK

Srinagar, August 07 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Narendra Modi-led fascist Indian Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government has intensified its efforts to Indianise the territory.

As part these efforts, the authorities of IIOJK illuminated the famous clock tower at Lal Chowk in Srinagar with Indian flag on Friday night.

Srinagar Mayor Junaid Mattu, who belongs to Altaf Bukhari led Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party and backed by BJP, took to the Twitter to share a photograph of the clock tower that was lit up by the district administration for the first time.

“We have illuminated the Clock Tower (‘Ghanta Ghar’) at Lal Chowk in colours of the Tricolour (Indian flag) ahead of Independence Day. New clocks fitted,” he tweeted.

A video of the same was also shared by Indian wire agency Asian News International (ANI) on Twitter.

Lal Chowk is a highly sensitive area in Srinagar. Traffic plying or a deserted look during shutdown, often gives a glimpse of the situation in the city.

In a similar incident on Friday, the Zero Bridge, a popular spot for visitors in Srinagar, was also illuminated in the Indian flag.

It is to mention here that as part of its attempts to impose Hindutva ideology in IIOJK, the Modi regime has decided to rename the government-run schools after the soldiers of Indian Army, police, and paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force who have died during attacks in the territory.

In this regard, a government notification directed the deputy commissioners of Jammu, Kathua, Doda, Poonch, Ramban, Samba, Kishtwar, Rajouri, Udhampur, and Reasi to identify the government schools in villages/municipal wards of their respective districts that can be named after the troops who have died in different attacks in the territory.

Officials concerned have been further directed to constitute a committee at the district level to prepare such details after due verification.
