World urged to take notice of Indian brutal repression in IIOJK

Ottawa (Canada), August 06 (KMS): Pakistan’s Acting High Commissioner to Canada Shahbaz Malik has urged the world to take cognizance of the ongoing brutal repression unleashed by India in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

He was speaking at a webinar arranged by Kashmir Committee Ottawa.

In his remarks, Member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario Joel Harden, said seven million Kashmiris have been living under lockdown for the last two years and it is binding on all Canadians to speak up for the Kashmiris human rights including the right to self-determination.

Professor Chinnaiah Jangam of Carleton University Ottawa said Kashmir has become a highly militarized zone after being stripped of its special status by Modi regime which had put the political and cultural identity of the territory under jeopardy.

Human Rights Activist, Professor Rehana Hashmi, called upon the Canadian government to move from its position of being an observer to an active player in stopping the human rights violations against the people of Kashmir who had suffered for decades at the hands of Indian occupational forces.
