Shia Muslims reject bogus measures for Muharram
Srinagar, August 02 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Tehreek-e-Wahdat-e-Islami has categorically rejected the so-called measures taken in the name of processions for the holy month of Muharram by occupation authorities and called them a nefarious Indian plan to fan sectarian tension in the territory.
The TWI spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the authorities had banned Friday, Eid and other congregational prayers in the occupied valley, and allowing the Ashura processions on deviated routes is a wicked plan of the Modi regime to fan sectarianism in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
The spokesman called upon the Kashmiri Muslims to thwart the dangerous conspiracy while maintaining unity in their ranks and files. He said that the Indian authorities had ignored the real representatives of Shia Muslims and consulted with the fictitious organizations regarding Muharram processions.
The TWI said that Shia Muslims reject this decision outright.
The spokesman demanded the opening of all traditional routes for Muharram processions, which were banned 30 years ago. He also called for allowing Friday and Eid prayers. He urged the Shia Muslims to show their true benevolence by holding Muharram processions without heeding Indian sanctions and restrictions. The TWI said that Modi is the Yazid of the time and to speak out against it is to follow the true philosophy of Karbala.
