Preparation for assembly polls: voter lists of Kashmiri migrants being corrected

Srinagar, August 01 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, as part of preparations for the upcoming assembly elections, the work of correcting the voter lists of Kashmiri migrants has started.

Apart from amending, deleting and adding names of displaced voters related to Kashmir, voters whose photo is not in the voter ID card are being put up.

For this exercise, teams are visiting displaced camps on the instructions of district election officers of different districts of Kashmir to fix voter lists and complete the process of election identification photo cards, South Asian Wire reported.

In this regard, the team of Ganderbal District Election Department will visit Muthi Camp on August 2, Jagti Camp on August 3 and 4, Nagrota Camp on August 5 and Udhampur on August 6.

Relief Commissioner of Jammu and Kashmir (Displaced) Tej Krishna Butt informed that the voter list of displaced voters is being reviewed for the upcoming assembly elections.
