Forceful demos against killing of youth in Pulwama

Indian troops use civilians as human shields

Srinagar, July 14 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, forceful anti-India demonstrations erupted in Pulwama district, today, over the killing of three youth by Indian troops.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the troops martyred the youth and destroyed two houses during a cordon and search operation in New Colony area of the town. Locals told media that the troops set fire to one house and blasted another with explosives.

The occupation authorities imposed strict curfew in entire Pulwama town to prevent anti-India protests. People were informed through loudspeakers to stay indoors and not try to venture out. Internet services were also suspended in South Kashmir.

However, despite curfew, people took to the streets and staged forceful demonstrations against the killing of the youth. They chanted anti-India and pro-freedom slogans. Indian police and troops fired teargas shells and pellets to disperse the protesters, triggering clashes between the demonstrators and the forces’ personnel. Locals said that the troops detained several people and forced them to sit in front of them as shields during the clashes.
