Barkati condemns fresh killing spree by Indian troops in IIOJK

Srinagar, June 19 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, a meeting of Tehreek-e-Fikr-o-Aiteqad Jammu and Kashmir was held in Islamabad town of South Kashmir with its Ameer, Maulana Sarjan Barkati, in chair.

Besides the office bearers, many party activists participated in the meeting and discussed important issues related to the organization.

Maulana Sarjan Barkati addressing the meeting said that the situation in IIOJK had been deteriorating with each passing day. He deplored that on one hand, it is claimed that the situation in the occupied territory is absolutely normal, and, on the other, the prisons are being filled with innocent people of Kashmir. These hollow claims are aimed at misleading the world community, he said.

Maulana Sarjan Barkati strongly condemned the fresh killing spree in Sopore and Shopian by Indian forces and expressed solidarity with the bereaved families. He added that the Indian government would never succeed to suppress the Kashmiris’ ongoing liberation movement through military might and the people of Kashmir would take it to its logical conclusion.

He also expressed concern over the displacement of members of Gujar and Bakarwal community from their houses and lands in Jammu and described it condemnable.

Maulana Sarjan Barkati appealed to the international community to take cognizance of the Indian state terrorism in IIOJK and play role in settling the lingering Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN resolutions and aspirations of the Kashmiri people so that durable peace in the region could be ensured.
