Kashmiri Pandits celebrate annual Kheer Bhawani festival in Ganderbal

Srinagar, June 18 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, hundreds of Kashmiri Pandits on Friday took part in the annual Mata Kheer Bhawani festival in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district amid COVID SOPs.

The ‘Kheer Bhawani Mela’ was observed at Mata Ragnya Devi Temple in Tulmula area of the district without any large public participation due to Covid pandemic.

However, small groups of Hindu devotees, some of whom had come from India, thronged the temple in Tulmula. The annual event, one of the important festivals of Kashmiri Pandits, is celebrated on Zyestha Ashtami, a Hindu auspicious day, which fell on Friday June 18, this year.
