IIOJK authorities evict Gujjar families in Shopian
Srinagar, June 15 (KMS): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the authorities on Tuesday evicted Gujjar families from in Ramnagri area of Shopian district.
The Gujjar community showed resistance, however, the Revenue team accompanied by Indian police evicted them and took possession of the land comprising over 11 kanals.
As per reports a Revenue team led by Naib Tehsildar Kanjiullar Ghulam Nabi of Shopian, under police protection emerged in Ramnagri village of the district for land acquisition. The land reportedly belongs to one Kashmiri migrant Pandit Triloki Nath.
An official said that they were implementing the court orders. The double bench had directed DC Shopian to implement the order and take possession of this property, he said.
Locals said that the matter is subjudice before the High Court. They said that a single bench had passed an order in favour of the four brothers who were occupying the land, however, double bench recently ordered that land should be taken into possession without any delay. KMS—18M
